Pirate, the marina cat.
No prizes for guessing who really runs the Marina. As lovely and independent as he is, please be aware he can quite rightly scratch and bite if not treated with respect.
Do not attempt to tickle or rub his tummy if he rolls over onto his back. He is not being cute - just be aware - he is a cat above all other cats and key to our success.
If you have a dog then please keep it on a lead. Pirate is generally very capable of looking after himself and will defend himself and his territory if he feels threatened.
He may take the odd cat treat but mostly he will ignore them until he thinks you are not looking. Do not be offended by this behaviour. It's just his way. He is very fond of peace and quiet and I think he appreciates people who are like him in that respect. If he comes to you, you are deeply favoured and privileged.
What do you mean, you brought wine but no bottle opener?
Pirate, the Marina cat, was not impressed. Was this supposed to be a second portion of cat treats of sufficient proportion? Not a chance!
Today has been a busy day with diggers, boat moving, boat trailering, maintenance and general business and disruption.
Lots of visitors and coming and going.
I feel this is going to cost someone but it won't be me today.
I wish our Warden and cat carer a whole lot of luck.
